Byrd Park, a 300 acre recreation area with roads through peaceful groves, features three artificial lakes, one of which has a fountain which is colorfully lighted at night. In the southwest corner is Virginia's memorial to World War dead, the Carillon. This 240 foot tower of pink brick was designed in Georgian Colonial style. Erected in 1932, it contains 66 bells, cast in England. On the ground floor is a Museum of World War Relics. A bronze Statue of Christopher Columbus, by Feruccio Legnaioli, is in the northwest section of the park.

Hollywood Cemetery, perched high on the bluffs overlooking the James River, is a fitting resting place for the distinguished individuals buried there. This photographic tour captures not only the beauty of the park-like setting, but the tender emotions one feels as they stroll through these hallowed grounds. We often visit Hollywood Cemetery, photographing monuments and recording information inscribed on them for inclusion on this site. We will gladly photograph your ancester's resting place and include it in this collection. Requests for other cemeteries in the Richmond area are also welcome.
