Three days after Winston Churchill, with President Harry Truman, delivered his "Iron Curtain" speech in Fulton, Missouri, the great men came together March 8, 1946, at Dr. Freeman's home in Richmond. They dined together and talked - Winston Churchill, Admiral Chester Nimitz, General Eisenhower and Dr. Freeman. President Dwight Eisenhower credited Dr. Freeman as the first person to suggest he run for president.

Frank Sinatra

 

Before the second world war, in 1941 a "big band orchestra" visited Richmond and played at the Mosque Auditorium. With the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, a young vocialist appeared for the first time - Frank Sinatra.

A lifetime later, March 5, 1994, Frank Sinatra returned to Richmond and the stage of the Mosque to make one of his last concert appearances.
