An honorable man

 

He made the world a better place. Mr. Cannon worked as a clerk for the Richmond Post Office, nursed and served his invalid wife until her death. During his adult life he gave all his money to the poor and to those of good character he considered worthy.

Polk Miller

 

Polk Miller and his Old South Quartette had a variety how of "Stories, Sketches and Songs" depicting black life before the Civil War.

Polk Miller, a pharmacist by trade, began making remedies for his favorite hunting dog, Sergeant. His friends soon found these remedies worked for their dogs, and Polk began selling his products in the drugstore. This was the beginning of Sergeant's Pet Care Products.

Warren Beatty and his sister, Shirley MacLaine , grew up in Richmond, Virginia. They are well-known for their roles in motion pictures.

Beloved Richmond radio personality

Harvey Hudson, named "Dean of Broadcasters" by the Richmond Times-Dispatch, was an WRVA personality and morning man in the 40's and a WLEE morning personality from 1946 until 1972. He was General Manager of WLEE Radio and Vice President of both WLEE and Channel 8 Television. He brought TV-35 to Richmond in the 1980's.  Hewas also one of the owners of TVX television with 13 stations in the Eastern US. The TV stations were later sold to Paramount Pictures. He can be seen in "Memories of Richmond." on WCVE TV-23. Harvey Hudson's Passing Parade is in its 13th year of broadcasting.
